What is MyAltaMed?

MyAltaMed offers patients personalized and secure online access to portions of your medical records, including any allergies, past immunizations, medications you are taking, and prior test results. Accessing MyAltaMed on the internet or through the app (available on the Apple store or Google play) lets you manage your health and keep this information safe and private.

Once you set up your account, you will be able to:

  • Make medical appointments
  • Request dental appointments
  • View your health summary from the MyAltaMed electronic health record
  • View test results
  • Request prescription refills
  • Access trusted health information resources
  • Communicate with your medical care team

What do I need to use MyAltaMed?

You need access to a computer connected to the Internet and an up-to-date browser. You can also download the MyAltaMed app from the Apple Store (iPhone) and Google Play (Android).

How do I sign up?

You must first receive an activation code which will allow you to register on MyAltaMed. This code will let you log in and create your own username and password. There are several ways to receive an activation code:

  • Visit MyAltaMed.net.
  • Download the MyAltaMed app.
  • Visit any AltaMed clinic.
  • Call our AltaMed Patient Support Line at (844) 498-3446.

Once we confirm your identity with the information you provided, an activation code will be emailed to you.

When can I see my test results in MyAltaMed?

Your test results will appear in your MyAltaMed account after your physician has reviewed them. This is generally within one to two days.

If some of my health information on MyAltaMed is not correct, what should I do?

Your MyAltaMed information comes directly from your electronic medical record at your doctor's office. Ask your doctor to correct any inaccurate information at your next clinic visit. Your health information is reviewed and updated in your electronic medical record each visit.

If I send a message to my doctor or nurse through MyAltaMed, when can I expect a reply?

You will generally receive an answer within one to three business days. Note that MyAltaMed should not be used for urgent situations. Please contact the Patient Service Center (888) 499-9303 if the situation requires immediate attention or dial 911 if it is an emergency.

Can I view a family member's health record in MyAltaMed?

Yes, you can. This is called proxy access and allows a parent (or guardian) to log into their personal MyAltaMed account, and then connect to information regarding their family member. A Proxy Consent Form must be completed in the clinic. Parents’ and guardians’ proxy access is available for children between the ages of 0-11 and adults who are responsible for the health care of a family member. MyAltaMed is not available for both patients and proxy access for patients between the ages of 12-17.

I forgot my password. What should I do?

You may contact our MyAltaMed Patient Support Line at (844) 498-3446 to request a new, secure password. You may also click the "Forgot password" link on the sign-in page to reset your password online.

Can you send me a new activation code as I have lost it, let it expire or did not receive it?

Call our MyAltaMed Patient Support Line at (844) 498-3446 and after we verify your identity, a new activation code will be sent to you via email.

My activation code does not work, what should I do?

For your security, your activation code expires after 14 days and is no longer valid after the first time you use it. If you still have problems, you can call our MyAltaMed Patient Support Line at (844) 498-3446.

I was logged out of MyAltaMed, what happened?

We aim to protect your privacy and security of your information. While logged into MyAltaMed, if your keyboard remains idle for 15 minutes or more, you will be automatically logged out of MyAltaMed. We recommend that you log out of your MyAltaMed session if you need to leave your computer for even a short time.

Log into MyAltaMed and from the left menu, go to the Preferences section and select the appropriate option.

Is MyAltaMed secure?

We take great care to ensure your health information is kept private and secure. Access to information is controlled through secure activation codes, personal usernames, and passwords. You control your password, and your account cannot be accessed without that password.

What is MyAltaMed’s privacy policy?

MyAltaMed is fully compliant with federal and state laws pertaining to patient privacy. Your name and email address are treated with the same care and privacy given to your health records and will never be sold or leased by MyAltaMed.
